ERTMS – The European Rail Traffic Management System
Lecture by Quentin Macdonald Wednesday 14 Nov 2012, commencing at 18:00 at the Derby
Conference Centre, refreshments available from 17:30. Joint Meeting with the IET The European Rail Traffic Management System replaces signals
with VDUs in the train cabs. These indicate whether or not it is safe to continue the journey. It has the facility to stop the train
automatically if warning signals are ignored. This lecture will cover
principles of the system based on multi-passenger
and freight operations. Non-members, visitors or guests are welcome to attend the lecture – please note that a small charge of £2 will be made for non-members. |
