Video Update Of Past Event: The Porterbrook Lecture – How to build a hydrogen-powered train in 9 months

Helen Simpson of Porterbrook and Dr Stuart Hillmansen of the University of Birmingham talked about the use of hydrogen as a fuel source for trains.  The lecture particularly look at the successful development of the HydroFLEX train, a converted Class 319 which was designed and developed in just 9 months. The HydroFLEX team explained the design, build and the current plans for mainline testing. Finally, a look to the future considering the infrastructure and hydrogen production challenges for a wider adoption of hydrogen as a fuel source.
