The first DRES lecture of 2025 was presented by Paul Roebuck (Production Performance Manager) from Freightliner UK. The presentation explored Freightliner’s journey on the Class 66 locomotive fleet with Remote Condition Monitoring.

Paul described why this system was chosen, the equipment and design from the third party and the improvements Freightliner are currently implementing. Paul also covered all areas of the systems, from its architecture, cloud-based solution and how actions are taken by the business. He also covered the benefits and some drawbacks we have highlighted since having the system fitted.
