Gary Porter the Porterbrook Programme Director for Major Projects and Maintenance Services delivered a lecture on the major infrastructure upgrade that is taking place at Long Marston. A video of this lecture can be viewed from the Lecture Video section of the Members Area.

Porterbrook is investing circa £40m to upgrade infrastructure facilities at their Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre, including a new signalled, AC electrified 3.5km rail test loop and the addition of powered vehicle storage sidings. Gary, who is leading this major upgrade project, presented this lecture to explain the design concept and progress to date, including an insight into the rolling stock testing capability which will be available to the industry following completion in 2025.
