Roger introduced us to cyber security for operational technology in automation as defined within the International Standard 62443, including a description of the four Security Levels and the Foundation Requirements. He continued by describing the risk management process used to assess and control threats, so that they are below target levels.

Without giving away any ‘Company Confidential’ information, Roger outlined some of the practical Cyber challenges which a modern rolling stock manufacture faces, including the frightening prospect of a hacker being able to control trains, or modify signalling commands from Control Centres.
