The University of Leeds, in collaboration with industry partners, has created the Institute for High Speed Rail and System Integration (IHSRSI). The strategy of the Institute is to provide the UK with a transformational, globally unique, research facility which will provide 400 km/h-capable testing. A short clip of this lecture can be viewed below.
The lecture took place via Zoom on the 17th February 2021 and the full lecture is available to view via the Lecture Video page within the Members Area. Please log in and have a look.
Professor Peter Woodward presented the IHSRSI, concentrating on its capabilities and the opportunities for companies to become involved when construction recommences after the Covid-19 pandemic.
The whole-system integration philosophy offers the opportunity to develop a wide range of rail systems for both conventional and high-speed networks, performing hitherto unattainable testing and research opportunities that will have a direct impact on de-risking new rail systems.
